Listen: Ram by Paul and Linda McCartney

11 November, 2010

We're feeling a lot of love for the McCartney's this week.  This gem of an album was released by the Paul and Linda in 1971 and was the only record they ever made as a duo (before they went on to form Wings).

It seems the golden couple were way ahead of their time.  Critics largely panned the album at its release, but changed their tune on later reflection, with The Rolling Stone doing a one-eighty from calling it "monumentally irrelevant" and then hailing it as one of McCartney's best albums in the 1980s.

It sounds like they had a lot of fun of making this, and it's a lot of fun to listen to.  We highly recommend adding this album to your music collection, you can purchase it through iTunes here.

Favourite songs:

Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey
Long Haired Lady

Check out Paul and Linda frollicking on the beach and riding horses in their video for 'Heart of the Country'.
