RAFW: Retro colour party fun with Anna & Boy

7 May, 2010

This show for me was all about the colours. Anna & Boy used my all time favourite colours - candy pink, peach, mint green, lilac and sunny yellow, mixed up with bold retro prints in red, orange and navy. Anna and Lill nailed it.

Speaking of nails, the perfectly painted fakies were fabulous! You could tell there was a lot of love in the details and accessories, as seen in the flowered swimming caps on the heads of perfectly coiffed curled beehives.

The pretty, retro inspired hues were also worked into the make up with splashes of colour around the eyes, freckles dotted across cheeks and noses and a perfect cutesy pouty lip.

I could see the smug looks on the models faces, they were totally smoking hot and totally aware! Bopping down the runway in pastel colored, lace up platform wedges I would die for, the girls were stunning. The dudes kept it fresh in pulled up white socks paired with pristine white high tops.

Pieces mixed old school, high waisted vibes with cropped jersey tees, printed board shorts and dresses.

The colour party was complimented with blocks of grey, white and black. With such a myriad of prints to choose from, come summer we are well and truly spoilt for choice.

Never have vintage vibes looked so damn good. Such a fun and vibrant show, Anna & Boy successfully embraced the old and mixed it in with the new.
