To celebrate the launch of her new winter collection, ‘Nomad Intellect’, we chatted with designer Arabella Ramsay about the travels that inspired the collection, her favourite outfit and the allure of the eternal nomad...

What inspired the collection?

I had just come back from India and was obviously inspired by my travels....

I was looking at the girl traveller of today and trying to combine the sleek organised traveller with the nomadic gypsy who jumps on trains in bare feet with pashminas wrapped around her.

What attracted you to the concept of the nomad?

The whole idea of wandering around the globe.

What's your favourite outfit from the collection to wear?

The leather pieces are a real fave.... The leather Amelia Bomber and my Dad's drawing “where the wild thing are' T. I like to wear a size 12 loose as a dress with some flat booties, socks and the bomber over the top with maybe a pashmina when it is cold.

Tell us about the materials used in the collection

Leathers, organic cottons, wools, plaid shirting... Embroidered gypsy style.

Who would you love to see wearing this collection?

Lou Doillon, or a Sienna Miller living in London in the 1970’s.
