Chanel released today a teaser of their upcoming Autumn Winter Coco Cocoon Accessories campaign starring potty-mouthed UK songbird Lily Allen looking tres chic and all Breakfast At Tiffany's in head to toe Chanel and tiara crowned bouffant peering over her sunglasses (a little disappointedly in two out of three images released, but we have high hopes for more variation in the full campaign).Read more

Limedrop Cloud 19 Exhibition On Now

Melbourne designers Limedrop are part of a group exhibition that has just launched in Melbourne called Cloud 19. The exhibition brings together over 40 designers across 15 design disciplines as part of the State of Design Festival. Limedrop have collaborated with Sydney's Think Positive Desgner Printing to create digitally printed Merino wool jersey and silk twill printed with images of clouds and ocean from view of a plane. The design team worked with photographer Jo Duck on the accompanying images which will be displayed alongside the two outfits as part of the exhibition. Read more

A friend recently shared some blog love and got me onto the Army of Colour blog, an imaginative new site inspired by colour, design, art and fashion. It has introduced me to some talented artists from around the world and some beautiful and inspirational imagery. And it seems my friend and I are not the only ones to have fallen for the blog, so-hot-right-now Sydney music duo Empire of the Sun also stumbled across the site, and upon realising a shared fascination in the upcoming solar eclipse on Wednesday the 22nd of July, got in touch with the Army of Colour creators and offered them exclusive access to an Empire of the Sun special eclipse transmission to be streamed from the Army of Colour blog at the exact time of the eclipse. Uber talented Australian jewellery designer Jordan Askill has built a reputation for creating meticulously designed, exquisitely conceptualised fine jewellery, fit to earn their place as twenty-first century family heirlooms. Askill began his career designing the jewellery line for Ksubi (back when they were still Tsubi) and went on to work with Hedi Slimane for Dior Homme for three years in Paris. Read more

In a season where nearly every major fashion house opted out of the expense of a runway show in favour look books, Chanel demonstrated Karl Lagerfeld's assertion in the latest issue of Oyster magazine, 'I was never told or asked about the recession, I don’t know what it means. The owner of Chanel came to me and said, ‘2009 – no problem for you – you do whatever you want,'' choosing instead to 'reinvent the mystique' of Chanel with a runway show presented on the boardwalks of the Venice Lido beach at sunset, one of Coco's favourite summer holiday spots. 350 guests took in the show from the comfort of white sunbeds.Read more
