"Has someone had some work done...?"
Happy New Year! Well, ok, not really, but sometimes it takes a little while to adjust to a new decade...
So January 1st 2010 is long gone, but let's imagine that January 28th is an even better date to make a resolution, turn over a new leaf, begin something new.
If you visit here regularly, you'll notice that it looks different. Same same, in that we will still be posting our regular bits and bobs such as "My Top Picks", but different, with new contributors, more news from all over, and some fancy-pants features such as "Lookbooks" and "Events".
So please; sit down, relax, kick back, and enjoy the scenery. We hope you like our new look, and stay tuned because there's plenty more where this came from!

E L L E R Y showcased their new winter 09 collection at the 2009 Independent Runway show at LMFF on Thursday night. The evening was designed to present the best emerging fashion Australian has to offer. And it didn't disappoint with 15 young up & coming designers reflecting fashion's contemporary spirit - progressive, advanced, innovative and fresh.
E L L E R Y's AW 09 collection 'Under The Cherry Moon' featured some further refinements on what are becoming the E L L E R Y fundamentals - the studded denim cut-offs, the leather jacket (this season in studded pale pink - divine), the gold sequined backless long-sleeve dress, the little black strapless V dress (which this season has also been produced in red silk). The new barnacle accessories (barnacle boot & barnacle belt) are set to be the coveted pieces for every respectable E L L E R Y devotee's winter wardrobe. Other exciting new editions on the catwalk were the Merman pant in fiery metallic copper & the Jagger leather vest with wool tassels & don't worry you won't have to wait long to get your hands on the new collection, it will be available online very soon - watch this space!

GS favourites Limedrop & Trimapee also showed at the Independent Runway show (more from them soon) as well as Dion Lee, Saint Augustine Academy, Who Am Eye, Konstantina Mittas & House of Baulch.

Limedrop are a label renowned for having fun with fashion & not taking themselves too seriously - so when the invite came through for a live Limedrop shoot on Wednesday night (as part of Loreal Melbourne Fashion Festival) we knew it was going to be fun. The theme of the shoot was 'Underage Wedding' complete with the bubble-gum blowing, combing hair, clicking-heels courting stage, the white wedding & the cabbage patch pregnancy (or we can only hope it was in that order - heaven forbid!).
The crowd got to watch photographer Jo Duck climbing ladders & stylist Jade Leung primping, preening & applying gum where needed. The shoot was housed at Penthouse Mouse, a temporary fashion, arts and events space on Chapel St that showcases & sells the current works of emerging designers & artists during LMFF. Not just a shopping space, Penthouse Mouse features a number of weird & wonderful installations from designers such as Trimapee, Secret Squirel (both coming soon to GS!), bag designers Mercurialsts (see bottom images) & a range of artists both throughout the huge warehouse space & in the scary dark rooms upstairs! Check out Penthouse Mouse for more info.
The new Limedrop Winter 09 collection as seen in the shoot will be available within the next 2 weeks - keep those eyes peeled!
