Coming soon: Minty Meets Munt

27 July, 2011

We're so happy to have this Surry Hills staple coming on board with their Spring range in just a few weeks! We can't wait to get our hands on the pop colours mixed with tailored pieces, and we particularly love the on-trend abstract floral print, exclusive to MMM.

We had a chat to designer Tanya Curmi about the label, exclusive prints and the new LUXE range...

Where were you working before you created your own label?
Before I started my own label I was waitressing!!

What made you decide to get into fashion design?
I’ve ALWAYS loved fashion and its always been something that I wanted to do, one day I just got up enough courage to go for it!

We’ve heard a lot about your new ‘LUXE’ range, what made you decide to create the premium range and what can we expect from it? Essentially all our product is about “VALUE” at every price point. The premium range just gives you that little bit more in terms of design or edge for your dollar.

Where did the name of your label come from?
My nickname is “minty fresh” and my partner’s nickname is “Munty” when we started the business together we bought them together in the form of minty meets munt. Ahhhhhh.

What is your brand philosophy?
To deliver design led product with “value” at every price point. We feel that this is very much missing in this country and that’s why young girls shop abroad!! We need to look at keeping our girls loyalty on home ground by giving them what they are looking for and we believe this is it.

Tell us about your Spring collection.
This collection channels the lifestyle of the 1970’s: bringing poolside chic, disco nights and Luxe sportswear shapes into the present. The beautiful mottled print with pop highlights fuses the range. This collection welcomes the warm weather and hits stores in August. Get excited!

Who is the MMM Woman? She’s strong and confident and uses fashion as a means of expressing who she is. Although she follows fashion she adds her own touch to make her statement about who she is.

What’s next for your label? We are currently looking at taking the brand to the UK, which is very exciting! We currently have a brand ambassador located in the UK working at championing the brand on our behalf.

Keep an eye on our homepage for the new collection, due in mid August!
