RAFW: prints, block colours and mesh details at Ruby Smallbone

Ruby Smallbone showed her summer range to a packed out OPT containing a hit list of hot shot celebs. There was so much cool girl glamour going on, with make up king Napoleon Perdis sitting pride of place in the front row alongside Australia's most fashionable beauties Jennifer Hawkins, Kate Waterhouse, Alyssa Sutherland and Erika Heynatz.
Look after look rolled out on fierce looking models. Hair was swept up in a loose bun, highlighting the nonchalant glamour in the collection. Makeup was minimal - a nude lip with a wash of copper/orange colour on the cheeks and around the eyes. It was casual elegance in beautiful dresses. Ruby let the clothes do the talking.
There were prints, block colours and mesh details, a continuation from the current winter collection. The mesh panels on the body con nude dresses looked incredible.
Hem lines were high, waists were nipped and the soft draping silks showed off a range of incredible prints. Cut out details, fabric belts, sleek shiny silk trousers and button front blouses made up a well rounded and wearable collection.
Ruby consistently asserts her position as a stand out player in the women's RTW game. Ready to wear and we want to be wearing this right now.
