The best shoes of the season: Fall 2010

23 April, 2010

The Fall 2010 collections split the big designers into two current schools of thought: the form and function school and the have fun in the details school.  We can't pick our side, which are your favourites?

Above: The suede pumps at Yves Saint Laurent were served with a slice of punk this season, care of some killer mini mohawks.

The phenomenal footwear at Balenciaga this season were a candy coloured plastic fest in sharp geometries.

Embriodered leather and criss-cross straps with a Highland air were the call at Christopher Kane.

The Alexander McQueen footwear silhouette looks to have an influence of these Proenza Scholeur creations, we love the kind of the rocknroll/country and western vibe going on here.

Miu Miu continued the plastic fantastic theme with oh so sweet pumps and booties adorned in silver metallic flowers and colourful bows.

Loving the solid heel on these Dries Van Noten heels in suede and in the croc and wood combination.

Prada treated us to footwear fit for a doll with ladylike heeled loafers worn with coloured cable knit tights.

Be gone stilleto heel!  This season at Alexander Wang was all about a thick heel - makes life a whole lot easier!

Who would have thought we'd see such sensible shoes from Marc Jacobs?  Comfortable yes, but still very cute!

We love this flat black leather boot from Jil Sander, and are surprisingly enjoying the look of the boots under a straight pant combination!

The clog continues at Marni with a solid black leather and wooden sole sling-back.
