Tavi backlash? Our advice on how to survive it

Back in September 2008 we introduced you to the Style Rookie blog, written by the then 12 year old Tavi Gevinson from her parents house in the Chicago ‘burbs. We fell for her crazy enthusiasm, kooky ramblings, totally wacky thrifted outfits and pipe dreams of one day wearing and meeting her favourite designers.
Since then, Tavi has of course become a worldwide fashion phenomenon. And all of her dreams have come true. And somehow it just doesn’t feel as interesting anymore. This, along with the growing resentment in the industry, is going to seriously jeopardise her future in the fashion world.
Our advice, go back to what it was that got you the recognition in the first place and save the many press clippings and backstage photos for a separate fansite. No one likes a show-off.
