There were celebrities, bloody-noses and beautiful dresses last night on the live finale of Australia’s Next Top Model.

Perth teenager Tahnee Atkinson took out the crown over rival Cassi Van Den Dungen, lost out in the deciding public vote last night. Despite not winning the crown, Van Den Dungen received the votes of photographer Russell James, Harper's Bazaar fashion director Claudia Navone, model agent Priscilla Leighton-Clark and fashion designer Alex Perry. Tahnee received the public vote as well as the votes of Sarah Murdoch, Jonathan Pease and Charlotte Dawson.

Surprisingly Charlotte Dawson, who has been an avid supporter of Cassi throughout the series, voted for Tahnee and Alex Perry who appeared to adore Atkinson voted for Cassi. Not surprisingly Sarah voted for Tahnee due to her love of Tahnee’s athletic figure and her belief that Cassi doesn’t have the worth ethic to become a top model.

The finale was typically Australian with many fabulous quotes from the judging panel. Jonathan dubbed the South Australian weather “retarded” whilst Charlotte Dawson lamented that Cassi’s walk was reminiscent of “a newborn foal that was drunk when it was born”. Even the wonderfully composed Sarah blurted out “It’s Fanta pants herself!” when introducing contestant Adele.

The fashion stakes were also high this year with Sarah donning two gorgeous Alex Perry gowns, one a strong shouldered white mini with mosaic detailing around the waist and the other a glamorous shimmering full length gown. Both finalists also wore Alex Perry during the finale which prompted Charlotte to inform them both “you won’t be organ donors after wearing those.”

Nicola Finetti also provided dresses for Tahnee and Cassi who looked ravishing for the arrival photos. Make sure you check out Nicola Finetti’s GS store here so you too can look like a top model!

All in all the finale was a huge success, with Tahnee's impromptu nose bleed being the only major disaster of the evening. All of the contestants and judges looked ravishing and Sarah did a wonderful job as host.

We will wait anxiously for next years series where hopefully there will be more bogans, bitching and fabulous fashion faux pas'. Luckily we have the new season of Project Runway Australia to fill our reality TV cravings… tune in to the season premiere tonight on Arena at 8:30pm.
